I won't bore you with the details, nothing really serious - just a little annoying, ggrrrr...
Virtually all sorted now though, so, excuse the very quick and short post, just to give you a note of tonights Johnny Reece Playlist, 20.00 hrs (UK time) via http://www.rti.fm and Sky 0195, oh, and the other usual places you all know about.

Un Petit Update...

Bonjour Petit Croissants,
just a quick update to say our Mr Reece has returned from his Parisian jaunt, and we're back in hyperspace here too, and this good ol' AZ Blog will be garnished with a full update tomorrow, Saturday, with the full Weekend Playlists, from both the Katrine and Johnny Reece shows.
Katrines Show is on RTI on Saturday night, and Johnny Reece's show airs on Sunday.

Furthermore, future AZ Schedules for RTI and Radio Seagull, for the next few weeks, will magically appear.

And don't forget, we now have 2 Pods, as listed on our Index, left.
A whole selection of goodies there for you, including the new Zoe Street show, the CBGBs special, which appears on Pod 2. Check the Pods out from time to time, they will be ever changing.

New up on the Pods in the next week, will be the new AZ Programmes from Rich Phoenix, Andy Miles, Katrine, and Johnny Reece.
Oh, and look out for some classic Vintage AZ too...

Check back tomorrow for New Playlists and Schedules !

Thanks, as ever, for your support.

Oh No, it's Leftovers !

Ah yes,
Hello there Zoneheads, whilst all and sundry are otherwise engaged on their travels, working abroad, or doing whatever it is that they do, I thought I would fill in time before the next official update by uploading a few pics, previously unseen here, from Mr Reece's trip to RTI, in Poprad, Slovakia, from a week or so back.
As the Scotsman jokingly pointed out, 'the leftovers' !

With pics in mind, do remember that it is entirely possible that many from Paris may appear here sometime before the end of the week. This is because our errant Scotsman leaves today, for 4 days in Paris, 2 of them he will be working on another project, therefore the remaining 2 days, I confidently predict, will be spent on many a trail, taking pictures here, there, and everywhere, particularly as Paris is one of his favourite places.
He is very glad this extra work has come up when it has, due to the fact that from the following week onwards, booked work is piling up at a rate which will prohibit future foreign jaunts for a little while.
You've got to take it when you can get it, as they say.
As for the Paris jaunt itself, this was on, off, on, off, and now on again - for various reasons.
But today, it's happening.
Now, pic-wise, over to Slovakia, whether it be Poprad the town, the outskirts, the Mountains, RTI, whatever.

Oh, and have no fear, we'll be back just before the weekend, with full advance AZ Schedule Updates, and all of the Weekend Playlists for you.

Speak later, Zoneheads.

Thanks for your support.

Katrine's Report from Nykoping, Sweden...

Since our sincerely Johnny Reece is a busy man, I thought I would help him with the blog today.
Update from Sweden !

What’s new?
Well, my house has since 2 days ago no heat and no hot water.
So I’m sleeping with a jacket, hat and scarf.
Not very happy about that to say it nicely. So I’m spending all my time awake (and asleep as well) freezing my nose off at the moment. And of course hanging out with friends, listening to music, trying to study if something funnier isn’t happening, which it normally is.
Like yesterday, when it was Mittwoch.

Mittwoch is a concert/event that our school is arranging once a month at the beautiful Theatre of Nykoping (see picture above).

Deportees took the stage with storm. It was their Tour opening night and the audience could enjoy one hour of fabulous country/pop/soul. Do listen to a track at www.myspace.com/deporteesmusic.
And keep your eyes open for Phoenix gigs in Europe this autumn – Deportees will support them.
Yesterday was their night though, and the supporters were two local acts ; Daniel Loefgren and Mellow.
Daniel Loefgren and his band were absolutely lovely, an upcoming guy with melancholic songs that he produces himself, and he has just been signed by the record label Norinism.
Anyway, we managed to sell out, almost.
After that late night and 4 hours of sleeping in the “igloo”, and also worrying about the big exam today, I woke up as a happy butterfly this morning by some weird reason, almost danced myself up from bed.
Feels like I’m high on nothing, if that’s possible.

And it’s still euphoria in my mind, even though I’m sitting on a boring bus for 5 more hours,on my way to Boras to visit family and friends.

My laptop is my best friend :)
I’m recording a new Album Zone Show there tomorrow, which will be up on the Pod soon.
Oh the exam?
It felt good, but you never know.
I think I am the worst pessimist you can meet, cause I really dislike getting disappointed.

The Battery is telling me to stop this now, but before I go, here is my Top 5 for today :

1. Owner Of A Lonely Heart – Yes
2. Rally – Phoenix
3. She’s So High – Tal Bachman
4. Damaged Goods – Deportees
5. People Have The Power – Patti Smith

Take care and have a nice weekend !

Pixie x

What I Did On My Holidays, by Richard Bismarck (aged 7)

Starting off in Bergen, I travelled by bus, train, boat and plane. It had always been an ambition of mine to get above the Arctic Circle and I did. Tromsø is around 300kms north of it and was not cold as I had expected. Weirdly enough I felt colder when I returned back to dear old blighty!Well as you probably expect I was bowled over by the sheer beauty of the place. The fjords, mountains and countryside.
Of course my other mission was to "Seek out and find interesting Norwegian music"Record shop assistants were only too pleased to recommend their favourite music. Musos are generally on a mission to educate others. And so they did. I came back with CDs by Ane Brun, Helene Bøksle, Thomas Dybdahl and others in my rucksack.
Just to clarify, in case you were wondering, Sodd is a Norwegian meal consisting of mutton soup with additional vegetables like carrots & potatoes. There it is above, cooking on my camping stove.
I know many people prefer to go to tropical climes in the summer but I guess I like the unusual, remote places. I like to get away from the rat race and explore.
